This past June, Jenn-Air partnered with Chicago Social Magazine to present the second annual Chef’s Table at our training facility in the penthouse of the historic Reid Murdoch building in downtown Chicago. The event, a fundraising initiative for the Chicago chapter of Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA), also celebrated Chicago Social’s July restaurant issue. Many of Chicago’s hottest chefs showcased their talents to the delight of the over 200 guests.
Featured chefs included John Des Rosiers and Phil Rubino of Moderno, Chef Jared Van Camp of Nellcote, Christophe Toury of Jacques Torres Chocolates, Celeste Campise of Spiaggia, Jim Kilberg of Coco Pazzo, James O’Donnell of Michael Jordan’s Steak House, Tony Quartaro of The Bristol and Balena, Kevin Hickey of Allium and Ashlee Aubin of Wood.
Attendees sampled specially prepared dishes from each of the chefs. Among my many favorites of the night were the Soft Shell Crab Panzanella from Chef Kevin Hickey of Allium and the Char Terrine from Chef Tony Quartaro of The Bristol. Our favorite mixologist, Adam Seger was back again this year preparing his amazing hand-crafted cocktails.
This year’s silent auction contributed greatly to the $41,000 raised at the event, with the Jenn-Air Dream Kitchen prize, including a suite of appliances and professional kitchen design services, topping the bidding at nearly $11,000.
It was a truly wonderful evening of food and friends and we were thrilled to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause as DIFFA.
